SAY IT SIMPLER
Water goes up into the sky when the sun warms it. It makes clouds. When the clouds get heavy, the water falls back down as rain. Then it starts again.
Heat from the sun turns water into vapor, which rises and cools into clouds. When enough droplets gather, they fall as rain or snow, run into rivers and the sea, and the cycle repeats.
Solar energy drives evaporation from oceans and lakes. Rising vapor cools and condenses into clouds; precipitation returns water to the surface, where runoff and groundwater feed the same reservoirs that started the cycle.
